I love Publix, I love their service, I love that they take competitor's coupons. BUT, there are a few things I don't like, and that's that certain products are very high priced, and have been for a long time. It's nothing to do with the economy overall. It must be to do with the quantity that Publix buys.
These products are (most of the time) cheaper to buy elsewhere:
Tea
Laundry detergents
Meats
Spices
Avoid the spices on the regular grocery aisle. Look near the produce section and there should be a rack of spices that are much lower priced.
Bagel Bites
Cereals, unless you get a buy one get one free special
Bagged candy
Paper towels/Toilet paper (unless you catch on special and use coupons)
Packaged deli meats
Cheeses (unless on special)
